Yesterday, Weldon was going to run to Menards for something to finish hooking up our new gas fireplace in the basement - another blog entry there! - and he was going to go alone, but I suggested that maybe he could take Paul... since he doesn't need a bottle anymore, he's pretty easy to take alone, for a short time.
So Weldon asked Paul, "You want to go to the store with Daddy?" Paul seemed excited, and let Weldon put his shoes and socks on him, and the two of them headed out the door (with a sippy cup of gatorade and a granola bar... just in case.)
I was a little surprised when Weldon walked in the door at least 5 minutes later. He said, "I lifted him into the van, and started buckling him into his seat, and he started freaking out... crying and yelling! So I thought he must have decided he didn't want to go after all. So I unbuckled him, and he ran over to the truck, yelling, 'truck, truck, truck!'"
So Weldon had to find a car seat (the one in the van is built in) and get him in the truck. Then he was very content and had a good adventure with Daddy -- alone!
