Bye, Steve, We'll Miss You!

Our friend Steve Williams (best man in our wedding 11 years ago) is off to Colorado without us!

Steve came down over two years ago to help Weldon out with our other house... finishing up the basement for our renters... before he headed out to Colorado. He stayed with our family for a few weeks and went to church with us a few times. After a few weeks, he decided he'd like to stay for a while and listen to some more John Piper sermons... he was very encouraged (and challenged?) by his time there.

He worked in this area for a while and headed back to St. Louis to be with family again for the winter. Then ended up back here again for awhile. And after our reunion in Colorado two months ago, he was ready to head out to Colorado -- finally!

Thankfully our kids have said bye to him a few times now, so it wasn't quite as overwhelming. But we'll all still miss him. He's a great friend to Weldon and me, and a fun "Jungle Jim..." er... "Jungle Steve" for the kids. Not to mention a really good example of a godly man for our kids. Sarah says she wants to marry him when she grows up... and while I'm not so sure about THAT, I am ALL for her marrying someone very much like him!
