Paul is named after Weldon's Grandpa, Paul August Cassel (his Mom's Dad) [1899-1988]. He was a pastor in the Evangelical Free Church from the time he was 25, and although he officially retired, he never stopped preaching until he died at the age of 88. He and his wife lived with Weldon's family from the time Weldon was born until he died when Weldon was 18. He was a big influence in Weldon's life, teaching him to fish and garden, and just spending lots of time with him.
